Uganda: Kampala Very Tense: Bullets and Running Battles With Police Everywhere

kampala demo xf5Qv 16419Riots have broken in Kampala and its suburbs leaving two people dead and several injured. Property worth millions has also been destroyed. Looting has also been reported in several places.

The violence has been triggered after an advance team led by the prime minister, Katikiro John Baptist Walusimbi was stopped by Police from entering Kayunga to prepare Kabaka’s visit over the weekend. Baganda youth then started to demonstrate against the action leading to violent clashes with the anti-riot police.
