Talent-hunt-shows cause emotional breakdown to youngsters

Archana, 18, and Ankita Chaurasia, 16, two siblings who had come from somewhere rural part of Central Madhya Pradesh to Mumbai for selection in the popular talent hunt show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. They got disappointed when not selected and jumped to the sea. They were not ready to face the anger of their parents at their home.

The mushrooming talent hunt shows are the new and short cut way for young people to be in immediate limelight. Everybody in India is almost aware about Debojit and Vineet. They got media hype and attracted so many youngsters in this field. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Fame Gurukul…. there were so many shows and the series is unending.

The enthusiasm for these shows is very high in the young age people. Very few of the thousands of aspirants get selection for the final rounds and only one gets the final trophy. After the completion of show, the winners turned to become shopping mall performers. They suffer bad phase when the popularity decreases and media attention declines.

The organizers make crores of rupees during the presentation of show. The winners gets emotional setback when another new round of that show starts and their popularity decreases. The aspirants who do fail in the selection processes take hard steps. The entertainment media house is completely based on the profit nothing else. The younger people take hard steps during that phase. Who cares for them and their emotions?
