China has world’s largest population, with more than 1.3 billion people. For the last 30 years, China has enforced one-child norm mainly on the urban couples to curb population. The world may have all praise for their endeavour to control their burgeoning population, but in a bid to implement the Family Planning law of their country, the Chinese officials often cross all limits of humanity. As a gory example of their excesses, a pregnant woman in South China was taken from her home, detained, beaten and forced to abort 8-month-old fetus because the baby would have violated country’s one-child limit.

Construction labour Luo Yanquan said his wife was forcibly taken from home by more than a dozen people on October 10 and detained in a clinic for three days by family planning officials , then taken to a hospital and injected with a drug that killed the baby. This inhuman act was justified by the family planning officials because the couple already had a 9 year old daughter. In India the Congress Govt lost elections due to forced sterilization for family planning during emergency days. The general population in China may detest such coercive measures but they cannot raise their voice in the Communist country. Although officially China bans forced abortions but doesn’t prohibit or clearly define Late-term abortion. The Chinese Authorities look the other way whenever such incidents are reported.
The Government controlled media also doesn’t highlight such inhuman acts. The late-term abortions endanger mother’s life while stifling life inside her. Where are the human rights activists?
