Arpita Khan-Aayush Sharma
The most talked about wedding of 2014 saw Salman Khan’s youngest sister tie the knot with long-time boyfriend Aayush Sharma. The wedding grabbed national headlines, with a grand wedding in Hyderabad and an equally extravagant reception in Mumbai. The who’s who of Bollywood attended the wedding, which also saw some stellar moments like Aamir Khan’s performance and Shah Rukh Khan’s presence.
Dia Mirza- Sahil Sangha
Bollywood actress Dia Mirza finally tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend Sahil Sangha in October this year. Held at a farmhouse in Delhi, the Arya Samaj style wedding saw Sahil arrive in style on a horse drawn carriage and guest being treated to really lavish spreads that included rich Hyderabadi flavours and mouth-watering Bengali sweets. The bride and groom also shone in their respective wedding attires as well, with Sahil opting for a Raghavendra Rathore cream silk linen brocade achkan and Dia Mirza opting for a green and beige Sharara.
John Abraham-Priya Runchal
This was a pretty private affair that took Bollywood by surprise. John reportedly tied the knot with his new girlfriend Priya Runchal in a very low-key ceremony while on holiday in the U.S. Everyone back home got to know about the wedding only when John tweeted this message.
“Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed 2014! May this year bring you love, good fortune and joy. Love, John and Priya Abraham!” A word of confirmation from his father afterwards sealed the deal.
Sameera Reddy – Akshai Varde
Another low-key wedding took place in January this year when actress Sameera Reddy married businessman Akshai Varde. Held at the actress’s Bandra residence, the affair had only a few close friends and family members present as the couple exchanged their vows.
Ahana Deol – Vaibhav Vohra
The youngest in the Deol clan, Ahana Deol, tied the knot with her boyfriend Vaibhav Vohra in February this year. The wedding took place in Mumbai and was a star studded affair attended by Bollywood celebrities, business magnets and renowned politicians. The only hitch was the absence of brothers Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, which raised many an eyebrow.
