India is a victim of International Islamic Terrorism. LASTEC India has developed – “Laser Dazzler” a new type of laser guns for Indian Troops who Sacrifices their lives for the Security of our country. Indeed it’s a boon for our brave troops who fights domestic terrorism and violence.
The Army Troops will soon be armed with laser guns-“Laser Dazzler” to help take on militants/ terrorists without even firing a single slot.
According to the LASTEC’s Associate Director AK Maini–“ Laser Dazzzler– non lethal gun” for the armed forces has been developed by the Laser Science and Technology (LASTEC)- a DRDO laboratory to be used during counter- insurgency and anti– terrorist operations. The gun would flash a lower Power beam which could temporarly ‘blind’ the terrorists or anti social elements for 40 seconds.
This time is good enough for the the troops to capture the culprits. It’s working distance is 2to 3 meters. The DRDO-developed gun would be used for trials by the Army in counter-insurgency operations in the next 3 to 6 months. It would be tested in “real combat” situations in both Jammu and Kashmir and North Eastern states.
Laser science and Technology Center (LASTEC) has its beginning as the experimental wing of DSO (defense Science Organization) started under Prof. D.S. Kothari, first Scientific adviser to defense Minister in January 1950. It was called the defense Science Laboratory (DSL).
