The Indian professionals, working in United Kingdom, are getting continuous blows by the British government on the matter of visa. In a new setback to thousands of Indian professionals working in Britain under the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) visas are on the verge of facing deportation from UK now.

UK administration had introduced a new point based system of HSMP visas, most of Indians are not able to qualify any extension to live in the country.

The new rules says that the existing HSMP migrants will have to re-qualify and this time on the basis of age, salaries and academic qualifications to continue their living in UK.

After a high-level meeting, immigration minister Liam Bryne has also said to take a review and reflect on the changes made in the visa system.

On the other hand, Indian professionals with PhDs and other qualifications have started getting deportation orders from the government.

In the order, this is clearly written, ‘If you do not leave the United Kingdom voluntarily, you will be removed to India.’

Earlier in February, many trainee Indian doctors in UK were told that they would not get any permission to live in the country.

The Indians said that they had switched from student visas to the HSM Program (HSMP). The HSPM visa allows non-European nationals to work in Britain and settling in UK. Now, Britain has changed its criteria for HSMP visas.

At least 30,000 Indian HSMP visa-holders have been affected by this new rule. They had even formed a campaign group, HSMP Forum Ltd, to fight and to establish the old rule again but, it seems, it did not work in the favor of Indian professionals in UK.
