Death By Association

Death By Association

Politics, as defined by Wikipedia, is “the process by which groups of people make decisions. The term is generally applied to behaviour within civil governments, but politics has been observed in all human group interactions, including corporate, academic, and religious institutions. It consists of “social relations involving authority or power” and refers to the regulation of a political unit, and to the methods and tactics used to formulate and apply policy.

“Politics” ultimately comes from the Greek word “polis” meaning state or city. “Politikos” describes anything concerning the state or city affairs. In Latin, this was “politicus” and in French “politique”. Thus it became “politics” in the English language.”

Politics, as defined by Robert Gabriel Mugabe, is an altogether different kettle of fish.

Everything he touches either falls to pieces, stops working, or is rendered State property. No one has any civil liberties, no one has any money, no one has access to medical care – the country is broke.

But Mugabe doesn’t care. He lives in the absolute lap of luxury, takes foreign currency from the State coffers as if they were his own to utilise – and his wife claims immunity from prosecution when she assaults people on foreign shores.

And lately we have seen a number people die in questionable circumstances.

For many years, Mugabe has been surrounded by the bodies of those he has slain, those that have died curious deaths, and those that have died as a direct result of his useless policies, the breakdown of law and order – and the fact that the simple daily requirements are priced beyond the reach of normal members of the community.

Unemployment is bordering on the 90% mark and continues to increase daily. People no longer have a disposable income – and any money they do receive is far too little to buy anything of importance.

Cholera continues to ravage the population, although the World Health Organisation has stated that the outbreak has passed its peak. Few people can afford hospitalisation, let alone simple health care needs.

Mugabe vowed to get Zimbabwe ‘back on its feet’ – well, he did that without even trying. A lack of affordable fuel has consigned the vast majority of people to walking everywhere!

But it would appear that by just associating with Mugabe would bring one closer to death.

Whether you are a poverty-wracked member of the population consigned to a slow a lingering death by malnutrition, starvation and disease – or if you are a member of the MDC that represents a threat to the ZANU PF domination (even though they lost the general election a year ago) – or even a member of Mugabe’s own party that has overstepped the bounds of their responsibility… Mugabe will strike you down, and then claim all manner of excuses to explain away the questions.

“It was the West!” is his favourite, whilst he regularly accuses the MDC of killing their own – and members of his ZANU PF party. And he explains the deaths by starvation as being a direct result of “illegal economic sanctions”…

The problem we have, is to prove otherwise – whilst Mugabe’s problem is who else needs ‘elimination’.

A simple case of ‘death by association’ – without any compunction – or any fear of reprisal or punishment.
