As America’s president-elect Donald Trump plans to Make America Great Again, it has become a cause of concern for several nations across the world. With some clear and unclear policies of Trump that came to the fore during his campaign days, America’s role at a global level has become questionable now. With many of Trump’s views bringing him global notoriety, these are also alarming for some key US allies.
The Trump ideology

From Trump’s conflicting views that keep changing as the days pass, it is clear that he does not have hidebound ideas. However, will that be in favor of America’s global positioning or against it? Only time can tell. From his views on the matters of immigration, trade and economy, foreign policy, and NATO, local and global leaders are simply sensing the danger. Even his views on Blacks, Muslims, Latinos, and most noticeably women, have not brought him laurels of any kind. Many have also been questioning Trump’s political experience and policy strategizing capabilities.
Xenophobia and NATO disregard
While people already have doubts on Trump’s information on different global issues, his xenophobic ideology is adding fuel to the fire. In fact, a bunch of former US presidents has also termed him unfit to lead the country. If his ideology persists in the present form, it can tarnish the country’s image on a global platform. This could further impact its foreign relations significantly, especially with Latin American neighbors like Mexico. As the country has great trading partnerships with Mexico, trade could be severely damaged during histerm.
On the other hand, a Trump presidency was highly disapproved by the current allies Japan and manyEuropean countries. With his win, these countries are still experiencing the aftershocks of unexpected Trump upset.Trump may not support Japan’s dependence on the nuclear arsenal of America. While Japan fears of losing its security ties with the country, Europe is alarmed by the rise of xenophobic right-wing populist parties in its nations.
The discontent Middle East

While a Clinton presidency could have beenprobably more stable for Middle East, it is discontent and uncertain about its relations with US after Trump arrived on the platform. Trump had been of the viewthat US should pull out of the Middle East, and that it would just have marginal importance to the country on the oil supply front. While his current stand in unclear, Middle East also has resentment due to his talks of bans on the Muslim community. Other things apart, US has already tarnished its image in this part of the world.
Dicey Russian stand
The role of Russian president in Trump’s interest was under criticism during the campaign itself. After his victory, it has become questionable whether Russia has gained the trump presidency as a bonus. Vladimir Putin, the Russian president, is confident about certain manipulations possible with Trump, which could not have been possible during a Clinton presidency. Trump talks favorably when it is about expanding Russian influence in the Middle East. Russian actions in Syria have also strengthened due to this.
What may be in store for America?

With Trump’s liking for Russia, unsure take on NATO and the use of nuclear weapons, dislike for Iran’s nuclear deal, and hate for ISIS, it can be interesting to see what is in store for US on the foreign relations platform. Will Trump want to wall off Mexico and curb trade with China which he thinks of as a thief? Will he be able to make America great again, especially from the world’s viewpoint? His future policies will unfold it all.
While a Trump presidency has created global uncertainty and instability, time will revealhistake on homeland security, immigration, trade, terrorism, foreign policies, and more.
