Maybe the Tamils have got the brains and they may hold higher posts in respect to academics but Bengali’s are not much behind in such aspects also. People like Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen, Jagadish Chandra Basu, Vidyasagar, Rabindranath Tagore are all residents of West Bengal and are true Bengali’s by origin who have gained excellence not only in national level but also at an international level.

India has not much progressed in the field of football but people tell Bengali’s show off by telling they are football crazy. But National level players like P.K Banerjee, Surajit Sengupta, Prasun Banerjee are all Bengal’s who have excelled in this particular sports and are distinguished sports persons. The football is so much favoured that famous songwriters have brought it up through their pens.

Bengali food

Coming to food Bengali’s are called greedy in the sense that they only like to it. But Bengali food has its own essence. Bengal serves some of the most delicious traditional cuisine among the whole of India and is known for its flavours and wide range of confectionaries and desserts. Bengal is famous for fishwhich are caught from the sea or from the fresh water rivers like Ganga and Padma. The Hilsa is the most expensive one among others. It can be prepared in many ways and it is only the Bengali’s who are best at it. The Mughals had settled here for a while and Mughal dishes are also quite favoured in Bengal, especially items like Kebabs, Tandoors, etc. Other meat or chicken preparations are also there like the most common but the most renowned ‘Chicken chaap’, ‘Mutton Kosha’, etc. When it comes to food the Bengali’s are surely a few steps ahead of others in the national level.

Bengali’s are also entertainment lovers and they love to talk, gossip, dance, sing at various occasions. Like Punjabis they do not shy much and they enjoy their time to the fullest when it comes to entertainment.
