It seems like everyone has had their stint in prison-celebrities seem to enjoy the publicity that they get out of it. Stars in Hollywood have been arrested for a number of charges from speeding in their cars, possession and use if drugs and the ever famous DUI’s and acronym for driving under the influence.
There are many instances when celebrities have just plain lose their minds and punch paparazzi, waiters even their fans. One would think that with all the money they have that they could some how manage to keep themselves together.
For example, actor Mark Wahlberg had spent forty five days after he had attacked a Vietnamese man on a street; he had apparently beaten the man with a wooden stick. He was arrested and was charged with assault and attempted murder.
Actor Dan Trejo, who has starred in many gory action films not only looks like toughened criminal, he actually had to spend time in prison for theft and drug charges in the infamous San Quentin penitentiary. This seems almost like the plot of one of his movies, but he has since then turned his life around.
While we can expect the guys to get into trouble every now and then, what we really did not expect was to see glamorous ladies like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Martha Stewart behind bars for some serious charges. Martha Stewart had been arrested for the white collar crime of insider trading in the ImClone case of 2004.
Paris Hilton was arrested for reckless driving while inebriated; she was brought before court where she was told that she would have to spend forty five days behind bars. Upon surrendering to the deputies, she was placed under house arrest. But she was summoned back to court where she was ordered to serve her prison sentence that was later reduced to twenty three days.
Lindsey Lohan had been arrested for a DUI and cocaine possession and was given house arrest; she was then fined for violating her probation and refusing to attend counseling. She was then jailed. After this her life went out of control when she had to move to and from court and was also accused for stealing. She was sent to rehabilitation centers after she was tested positive for cocaine in her system.
