Chatrapati Shivaji [1627-168] was the founder of Maratha Kingdom in 1640.Its been said that Shivaji had a linkage with Sisodia’s[Mewar’s Rajput dynasty]of Chittorgarh/Udaipur and was a descendent of Kunwar Ajai Singh of Mewar.
Shivaji an icon not only in Maharashtra but in whole Hindustan as a leader who fought fiercely with Moughals.
The other saying is that,he was an OBC.When Shivaji ascended the thrown the Brahmins refuged to crown him because he was a Dalit,so he had to arrange a Brahmin from Benares who was willing to crown him in return of Gold.
