Following the intelligence inputs that Militants have planned to blow up the Akshardham temple, the security at the temple, recently declared as world’s largest temple, was beefed up on Friday. The Delhi Police reportedly received information from intelligence agencies and deployed more security forces near the temple area.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Alok Kumar said:

We received an input that some militants belonging to Kashmir-based groups were planning to create terror in the capital by blowing up the temple.

However, he did not reveal the name of militant group behind the planning to carry out the attack in the temple. The security arrangement near the temple premises and inside the temple have been tightened up following the intelligence inputs.

It is a tough job for the security personnel to keep an eye on every visitor because thousands of people visit the temple every day.

The newly built Akshardham temple has been recently declared as the largest Hindu temple in the world and it has made it to the Guinness Book of World Records now. A senior official of the Guinness World Records Ltd had arrived in Delhi in December to present two world record certificates to the head of Swaminarayan Sansthan, Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
