In a relief to the three members of Tiger Memon family, the Supreme Court, on Friday, granted bail to them, The trio were convicted by Tada court for their role in the 93 Mumbai serial blasts.

Tiger Memon’s brothers Yusuf Memon and Essa Memon and his sister-in-law Rubeena Memon had filed the petition in the Supreme Court for seeking interim bail in the connection with Mumbai serial blast.

On Friday, the apex court granted interim bail to the three members of Memon family. The Supreme Court granted them bail on the same ground on which it had granted bail to Sanjay Dutt in the same case.

The trio had appealed in the court for the bail on the ground that they have not yet received the copy of the judgment in which the TADA court had convicted them on September 12, 2006.

Another accused, Mubina Bhiwandiwala, has granted bail by the apex court on the same ground. He was sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment in the connection with 93 Mumbai blast.

A Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice KG Balakrishnan heard the bail plea. The SC bench comprising Justices Arijit Pasayat and P Sathasivam ordered the convicts for surrendering immediately after receiving copies of the judgment delivered by the Tada Court.

The SC Bench also said that those convicts, who were on bail at the time of sentencing, would remain on bail. The other convicts, who were in custody would remain in custody.
