A Parliamentary committee, in an exceptional decision, recommended in the Lok Sabha to suspend the Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Rajesh Kumar Manjhi for 30 sittings from the house.

Earlier, Pramila Manjhi, Rajesh Majhi’s wife, had requested Speaker of the house Somnath Chatterjee to take steps against her husband by claiming that Rajesh Manjhi had been allegedly traveling everywhere with some other women by posing her as his wife.

Now, a parliamentary committee has recommended in the house to suspend the MP for this dishonest behavior. The Lok sabha would adopt the resolution to suspend Manjhi from house for 30 sitting only on Friday.

This will happen for the second time in the house that such a recommendation has been made against any people’s representative.

Earlier in April, the Parliament had suspended another MP Babubhai Katara for his alleged involvement in a human trafficking case.

The immigration officials had detained Katara at Indira Gandhi International Airport on the early hours of April 18 with a woman who was ready to fly on his wife Shardaben Katara’s passport. Later, the police booked Katara under Section – 419 , 422 , 468 , 471 of IPC.
