Suchitra Sen as Aarti Devi – (Aandhi – 1975):

This is perhaps mostterrificreel-life political character that appeared on silver screen in the year 1975. She played a character of a spoilt child of a politician who on growing up herself becomes a well-established politician. The character had similarities with then PM Indira Gandhi and owing to this; the movie had to face a ban during Emergency period.

She portrayed such a powerful politician who could compromise for anything in her personal life just to ensure a smooth political career.

Amitabh Bachchan as Azaad – (Main Azaad Hoon – 1989):

Although the character of Azad may not be of a politician, but he mirrored a common man who could shake the whole political fraternity with his voice and action.

He does so much to bring changes in the political system and uplift the common people; he becomes the leader and then commits suicide, which is a big tragedy in the movie.

The character of Shivaji undergoes many sacrifices for the betterment of the society.

Amitabh Bachchan as Subhash Nagre – (Sarkar – 2005):

This exceptional character played by Amitabh Bachchan is called Sarkar in the movie and it has a striking similarity with the real life leader – Balasaheb Thackeray. The character displays a l;eader who is above all law and government.
