Rash Driving- Why men do it?

Rash driving is something which not only men but also women have been doing over the ages and which has lead to many fatal accidents which otherwise would have been avoided. People indulge into rash driving both intentionally and unintentionally depending upon the situations. But statistics show that men have been recorded to indulge in rash driving more than women. The driving poll which was conducted by the National Safe Driving Test showed that women are 11% less likely than men to engage in risky and rash driving.

All kinds of excuses given by men for driving recklessly is totally lame since rash driving doesn’t mean anything good but it only brings accidents and misfortunes. Moreover most men do not realize that are acting reckless when they are sitting behind the wheel.  Most men give excuses that either they were running late or had to reach a place faster hence they were over speeding. Under any circumstances rash driving is an unhealthy habit and leads to fatal accidents.

Here are some signs that will tell that men indulge in rash driving:

  • You roll through stop signs – Most of the drivers do not stop at stop signs or even at red traffic signals. They just slow down, look for traffic and then proceed. A survey shows that almost 87% of the drivers do not feel the need to stop provided the intersection on the road is clear.
  •  You drive too fast – Over speeding is the most common violations which most drivers engage themselves in. The survey showed that 71% of the drivers do it. Some people like to drive fast while some others do it when they are late. Neither of the reasons is acceptable in terms of safety.
  • You drive too slow – Some people think they can avoid accidents by driving their car very slowly but when you are in the traffic the cars behind you expect you to give proper signals and to keep up with the flow of traffic. When you are lagging behind there will be a scramble behind you to pass and overtake you. This could lead to an accident.
  • You don’t use your signals – Many drivers think giving the side indicators mean that the cars behind them will speed up and cut you off. But if you don’t give the signal the car behind you will not know your intensions of your turning and might drive straight into your car when you try to take a turn.
