Punjab Vigilance bureau files case against Amarinder & 11 others in Ludhiana City project scam

The political equation has been changed in Punjab after the assembly elections in Punjab when SAD-BJP alliance got thumping majority. The victory for Prakash Singh Badal has started creating problems for former CM Amarinder Singh, as it was expected.

The Punjab Vigilance Bureau authorities have now filed a case against Amarinder Singh and 11 other people in connection with an alleged scam in a development project Ludhiana.

The CNN IBN has reported that Amarinder has allegedly favored a company in the allotment in the project worth Rs 3,000 crore.

The project had been planned to set up Ludhiana City Centre on Pakhowal Road.

According to the Vigilance Bureau, the Ludhiana Improvement Trust, allegedly, violated norms and terms and conditions and granted the project to Infrastructure Professional Enterprises (IPE).

The Vigilance Bureau has made Amarinder, Choudhary Jagjit Singh Paramjit Singh Sibia as accused of favouring IPE.

The Vigilance bureau has arrested two IPE officials Kamal Kumar Verma and Amit Sardana and the cases have been booked under Prevention of Corruption Act and other laws also.
