Finally, the voice of Khairlanji killings went to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
They were reportedly very upset Khairlanji massacre and the violence occurred in Maharashtra.
They are also not happy on the non-performance of the police on duty.
The Times of India has reported that Sonia Gandhi was moved to tears when she heard the story of Dalits from Khairlanji about the incident last week.
According to a congress leader, Sonia Gandhi almost broke down when Bhaiyalal Bhotmange (the lone survivor in the family massacred in Khailanji) told that his daughter’s name was Priyanka.
Sonia Gandhi heard shocking story from Bhaiyalal Bhotmange for more than an hour. PM Manmohan Singh also met the relatives of the victims for half an hour.
The TOI has reported that the Congress leadership was not ready to replace the chief minister but both Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh have felt that the administrative and police machinery in Maharashtra had virtually collapsed.
