Major B-wood sibling rivalries

Being siblings, they do have a ‘Right to Fight’ amongst themselves, undoubtedly. But Bollywood is a place which has witnessed many cases where rivalry has exceeded its limits. Here are some of the cases that gave a new insight to the burning issue of sibling rivalries and its reasons.

The Royal- Blooded war (Saif and Soha)

August 12, 2011 was a historical day for Bollywood when Saif Ali Khan decided to make people aware of the reservation system and its expected ill effects on the society. He came out on the road with thousands of people to save his school from being dismantled. Sister Soha, on the same day, was busy in managing the soundtrack of some songs that belonged to her. Are you Confused? Well, August 12 was the day when the two movies Aarakshan and Soundtrack were released, both starring Saif and Soha respectively. The rivalry, however, ended with the negligence of Soundtrack( Aarakshan, too, was not a big hit either, but it somehow managed to stand on its own feet) by the audience.

Bachchans at War ( Amitabh and Ajitabh )

When the issue of money is involved, brotherhood takes a back seat. An example for this fact can be the famous rivalry between Amitabh and Ajitabh Bachchan. Ajitabh was the money manager for Amitabh but due to some financial issues and other family related quarrels, he departed from the Big B and what was more worse that he decided to tell this story to the world by virtue of a book that also focused on Amitabh’s past relationships.

The ‘K’apoor ‘K’ontroversy (Ekta and Tusshar)

Ekta entered the film industry and not to be rude, she managed to grab some attention of movie lovers too. She started with horror flicks but due to the failure in scaring people, she chose controversial themes and the result was a success in form of ‘Love, Sex aur Dhokha’. Somehow, brother Tushar Kapoor too, managed to build a favorable image in the minds of the Indians and this was the start of the rivalry between the two. However, unlike Saif and Soha’s case, here Ekta dominated her brother and when ‘Love u Mr. Kalaakaar’ and ‘Ragini MMS’ were released, the latter defeated the expectations of the viewers and the former was not even noticed( sad it is!).

Sunil Dutt won’t be happy in heaven (Sunil and Priya)

Superstar brother wishes to marry an item girl, sisters oppose the marriage, brother’s adamant nature makes him marry the item girl. Sisters start disliking them both and rivalry starts. This was the issue between Sanjay Dutt and sister Priya Dutt in a nutshell. When Sanjay married Manyata, Priya departed from their family and even blamed Sanjay over keeping the surname ‘Dutt’.

The Patels departed (Amisha and Ashmit)

When Amisha Patel deserted her family over money matters, brother Ashmit decided to support the parents and this was the issue that was exaggerated to such an extent that this rivalry became the burning headlines of newspapers. Amisha claimed that her hard earned money was not put to the right use by her parents and brother Ashmit.

One at the pinnacle of success, the other left wandering ( Aamir and Faisal )

If someone asks you to compare Aamir Khan with Faisal Khan and you ask “Who is Faisal?”, then it won’t be a surprise for anyone. Faisal khan, the brother of Mr. Perfectionist Aamir khan, was reported to be suffering from schizophrenia( may be due to his deranged fate as against Aamir Khan who is a superstar) and even a report for his missing status was filed in a police station. Later, Faisal was found to be at his farm house, rearing his goats.

The Sen daughters get into rivalry with each other (Raima and Riya)

They worked together in a film, and one sister started feeling insecure of the other. Rituparno Ghosh, the Bengali director, cast Raima and Riya sen together in a Bengali movie but he had not even a slight idea that Riya would feel jealous of her sister Raima, once the shoot was over. After all, Riya also wants to be known as an actress and not just an actress with a high sex appeal.

The superhero finds himself helpless (Aishwaryaa and Soundarya)

The superhero of Indian Cinema, Rajnikant, could not control the generation of rivalry between his own daughters Aishwaryaa and Soundarya. Both of them decided to give a tough fight to each other with the release of their films on the same date.
