London: Multicultural City

London is a multicultural city with a population more than 7 million. People are settled here from different parts of the world and made it a Global City. There are African, Greek, Irish, Asian, Japanese, Caribbean, Turkish, polish, Middle Eastern, and Jewish cultures which have made an amazing contribution to London. London is home to resident communities from over 90 countries.

Every part of London has something different to offer. It is the diversity of culture which makes London an amazing city. The city is known for its internal transport hub and extremely popular tourist destination because of its multicultural character. According to many sociologists and historians, London is one of the city with lot of diversity. If you visit the British Museum in London you can see the multicultural effect playing its magic. It attracts visitors from different nationalities. It’s a wonderful experience of diversity.

African population is growing at an amazing rate in London, which has brought infinite variety of cultural influences and has made their mark on London. The cities grandiose architectural projects owe more to classical Greece. British and Asian especially Indian cultures have intermingled so much that it is indistinguishable.

China Town in London shows authentic Chinese culture and exotic food in many restaurants. One of the best Afro-Caribbean foods can be bought in Brixton Market. The multiculturalism of the city can be perceived in the food of the city. There is a good experience of authentic Bangladeshi Café. Greek and Turkish restaurants can be found in Green Lanes which gives real Mediterranean taste. There are many Vietnamese cafes in Kingsland Road. You can find some famous Indian Restaurants in Brick Lane.

Each and every person from different parts of the world in London has contributed to the place it is today. The best example is Notting Hill Carnival which is Caribbean festival and now part and parcel of British culture. London’s large population is from multicultural diversity.
