Industrialization a long time answer to agriculture distress in India: PM

The country, with more than seventy percent of its people depend upon agriculture sector, is looking forward to transform itself in an Industrial nation under the new leadership now.

The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said that this is the time to shift the focus of the country from agriculture to Industrial development now.

Manmohan Singh has termed the development of modern industry a common societal goal for the country. He clearly said that there should not be any conflict between the industrial growth and growth of society at large.

Manmohan has called the process of industrialization as a primary concern against the agricultural distress in the country.

He said:

The long-term answer for the agrarian distress is shift people away from agriculture, to manufacturing, to services and other non-agricultural sectors.

India is showing great development in almost every sector and it industry can create more job opportunities than before.

The industrialization process should be a matter of priority concern.

He said on the problem rising over issue of land acquisition for industrialization process that there were some flaws in the implementation level of these policies.

He referred government’s attempts to formulate a more humane rehabilitation policy for the land acquisition process.
