Indian Tarzan: Wife-spurned man makes tree his abode

Ever heard of a human being living away in dense forests like the mythological Tarzan…surrounded by wild animals and feeding solely on wild fruits? Well, here comes one, from the Indian state of Orissa. He has been living in a tree-house, 25 feet above the ground, for the last 15 years. The only difference this Indian version of Tarzan seems to have with the mythological one is that while the latter used to be in the company of animals, our Tarzan fears them!!

Kapil Pradhan, a resident of Nayagarh in Orissa, following a quarrel with his wife, Tulsi Pradhan, fled to the forest – some two kilometers away from his house – and has been living there ever since. He survives solely on what the nature has to offer, though sometimes villagers also served him some human-made food. While the visitors find his tree-house a precarious place to live in, Kapil finds it a cozy dwelling, safe from the threats of wild animals’ attack.

But, spending sometime with him would give one the impression that actually the man has struck a strong bond with the nature…perhaps stronger than he could do with the civilized society.
