India army needs to upgrade its technical advancements to establish its superiority over terrorists sneaking into India from across the border. The report says that the terrorists are increasingly applying the use of global positioning system (GPS) devices to enter into India territory. This has posed problems to the Indian army because the army has no technically advanced equipments to counter hi-tech terrorists.

According to the report, terrorists are using the satellite-based GPS equipments near Line of Control in north Kashmir’s Kupwara sector to infiltrate into India. A senior army official said that terrorists have the access to the hi-tech apparatus and sophisticated devices. With the help of these devices, they track the way to infiltrate in the valley.

A GPS device is a small device and it can be available in Rs 3,000-5,000. Till now, terrorists were dependent on the human guides to cross Loc, who used to take big money from them.

Now, the GPS device is helping them and they are crossing the LoC with easily remain untraced.

Army official also said that they do not have any resource to track GPS signals. A person sitting kilometers away can easily guide the infiltrators.

Report says that training in GPS equipment has been made mandatory for terrorists who plan to enter into Indian side. Every terrorists group has a GPS expert to help the group to cross the LoC.

However, PRO of the Srinagar-based 15 Corps Lt Col A K Mathur said that equipments to counter GPS device signals have been installed in Indian army near the LoC.
