Heavy rainfall takes 41 lives in Andhra Pradesh

The heavy rainfall has taken at least 41 lives in different parts of Andhra Pradesh since Friday from 10 districts and eight fishermen are still missing in East Godavari district.

Because of the heavy showers, the traffic and routine life in the state has been extensively damaged and disrupted. In the past 24 hours, authorities evacuated more than 24,000 people to safer areas in rain-affected areas.

According to the report, in Kurnool district, the heavy rain caused the death of 15 people. Due to disturbed weather, the communication facilities have also been affected badly and several villages has been cut off from the district head quarters.

The official data has said that till now at least 30 people have been died because of the heavy rain in the state on Friday. According to the data, 3 persons each died in Guntur, Karimnagar and Kadapa districts in the state. Two people died in in Hyderabad and one each died in East Godavari, Prakasham, Srikakulam and Mahaboobnagar.

For the coming days, the weather office has announced about the heavy rainfall different parts of state such as Telanagana, parts of Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. The state government has ordered the district administrations in those areas to take necessary and precautionary steps in view heavy rainfall.

According to the data, the state government has opened different control rooms at the state headquarters, district head quarters and mandal head quarters. The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has also received the orders not to take the bus in dangerous routes where flood can cause damages to the roads particularly areas in Guntur and Kurnool districts.
