The Court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Dinesh Gupta in Jaipur has issued arrest warrants against Richard Gere and Shilpa Shetty for their infamous public kissing drama.
The incident happened in New Delhi and the occasion was a part of ongoing ‘Seena Taan Ke’ campaign. It was an AIDS awareness campaign organized by the Truckers Corporation of India Foundation in Delhi. But the campaign turned into another celebrity’s ‘tamasha’ in public when Gere had kissed Shilpa on podium and it evoked strong public protests in several cities.
Later, a Jaipur resident Poonam Chand Bhandari had filed a PIL in the Jaipur court on this infamous kissing incident. After the kissing on podium in public, members of the Shiv Sena and other Hindu nationalist groups in Varanasi, Bhopal,Kanpur, Indore, Delhi and Mumbai protested against Richard Gere and Shilpa Shetty.
The protesters had also demanded that Gere should leave the country or apologize for his indecent behavior in public. Now, the matter has been reached to the court and the court has issued arrest warrants against the kissing couple.
