The United States administration should need little persuasion if Hezbollah becomes more powerful within Lebanon. It might be a victory for us and a defeat for the US. By blindly supporting Israel, the US is busy in providing the justification for extremists and militant groups existing in the region.

Yes, The Bush government is losing its grip over middle east. The sudden convulsion of violence has actually boosted the influence of Iran and Syria in the whole region. Hezbollah’s victory has dented the prestige of the United States and France in middle east.

Bush is to leave for the Middle East on Tuesday to visit Israel, then Saudi Arabia and on to Egypt. The US is well under pressure now. UNSC spokesman Gordon Johndroe has said - Hezbollah needs to make a choice: Be a terrorist organization or be a political party, but quit trying to be both. They need to stop their disruptive activities now.

Bush has a plan to meet Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora at Egypt’s Red Sea resort of Sharm al-Sheikh next week.

One does not have proof, but one gets the nagging feeling that the present Hezbollah uprising is the brainchild of hawks in the Iranian government.

Iran wants to establish its sphere of influence in the Middle East and cut away all US influence in the region.

US president Bush obliged it by getting rid of Saddam Hussain. Iran lost no time in propping up Shia outfits like the SICRI and Mahdi army in the country.

While the US is busy fighting Moqtada al Sadr’s men in Iraq, Iran has opened another front in Lebanon. It is a well known fact that Hezbollah has the backing of Iran.
