Monica, movie DNA is really interesting.

Sampling a movie every second and generating an 8 x 6 pixel image of the frame at that moment in time. Doing every time, generating one row per minute.

I understand it gives you unique fingerprint for that film, but what I fail to get is how is this useful?

Gee - I dunno... but I feel a certain something may be lost in the translation... beyond being a purely conceptual artistic statement, it is a little empty... it may be more interesting if someone had propounded some theory for the compressed remnants of the film’s visual aspect...

Movie DNA. The reason for creating this thing seems to be beyond me. Perhaps as Graeme points out,a conceptual statement. As a vision Cinema Redux seems interesting and innovative. What about the music part though?

Does not capture the whole essence of film experience as we know it. Gagandeep is right. What about soundtrack? What about the nuances in characterization? What about production design? I cannot comprehend why and how it can be called movie DNA.
