Relatives of cartel gunmen who were killed in a clash with the Navy and the Army conducted a protest because the bodies have not been released from the State Agency of Investigations.

About 20 people, mostly women and young people, protested outside the facilities with hand written posters addressed to the authorities.

“Let them rest in peace“, “We want the bodies,” “Return the bodies of our relatives” and “Respect our Pain” were phrases printed on the banners, along with a black memorial bow on each one.

A source at the AEI said the protesters arrived at the building in peaceful protest asking for the bodies of the assassins to be released for proper burial. Opposite the Police headquarters, four hearses were parked as a symbol of protest.

The families of the deceased expressed their annoyance, since the authorities allegedly denied them delivery of bodies without giving a reason.

“We just want them returned, they are already dead”. They (the authorities) just keep running us in circles,” said a woman who identified herself as a family of victims.
