ZANU PF Preen While Mugabe Summit Fails To Take Place
Wouldn't it be nice if they had a war - and nobody came?
This weekend, there was supposed to be a SADC conference in Botswana to discuss the Zimbabwean crisis - and lo, and behold - nobody bothered to pitch up.

"In a dramatic twist, the South African Broadcasting Corporation on Saturday are reporting that Zimbabwean opposition leaders have expressed regret at the Southern African Development Community's failure to hold an extraordinary summit to discuss current tension within the Zimbabwean unity government.
The Movement for Democratic Change has been at odds with ZANU PF leader Robert Mugabe, accusing him of reneging on implementing some of the 2008 Global Political Agreement.
Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai travelled to Botswana to seek guarantees from SADC leaders that they will establish a road map to allow free and fair national election in Zimbabwe by mid-next year."
So the pretence has now been dropped. SADC was never going to stand to the defence of the Zimbabwean people. They were never going to stand against dictator Robert Mugabe - and it becomes apparent that they were just biding their time.
SADC is not just a toothless bulldog - as described in an article on the internet today, it is a total failure, unable to even stand up to their side of the deal insofar as they claimed to by the guarantor of the GPA.
The Zimbabwean people have been sold down the river by a club that never intended to do anything that might be interpreted as being anti-Mugabe.
"Both Mugabe and Tsvangirai have publicly stated their desire to hold elections next year with some SADC leaders pushing for the immediate deployment of a SADC team to oversee the reform and electoral process.
President Zuma - the SADC appointed facilitator in Zimbabwe - has called for the immediate implementation of all outstanding issues agreed on the Global Political Agreement before an election can be held.
Earlier this week the President sent his facilitation team to Harare to gather information that he wanted to use to brief SADC leaders.
Unfortunately the summit was cancelled at the last minute after Zambian President Rupiah Banda and his Mozambican counterpart Armando Guebuza Failed to arrive in Gabarobe."
And, as if to back the total failure of the regional body SADC, Mugabe's defence minister has told Zimbabwe that even if they reject ZANU PF at the polls - which they did in 2008 - they will continue to rule.

"Defence minister and ZANU PF politburo member Emmerson Mnangagwa told hundreds of people in Kwekwe on Saturday that ZANU PF will continue to rule Zimbabwe even if Zimbabweans rejected it.
Speaking at a lavish party hosted by one of his trusted lieutenants, Owen Mudha Ncube, who was celebrating his elevation to the ZANU PF Midlands provincial executive structures, Mnangagwa accused his audience of having voted for the wrong party in the last elections.
"If you disagree with what is being said here, then there is nothing I can do about it and if you don’t vote for us in the next election, this country is huge, we will rule even if you don’t want," Mnangagwa said."
So what happened to the 'democracy' that Mugabe is always talking about?
With SADC finally showing its true colours, ZANU PF are following suit. ZANU PF have 'ruled the roost' for over thirty years, and, even when they lost the 2008 general election, they have continues as if they had won. The world watches, but says nothing, does nothing.
And the Mugabe duplicity is mirrored by the inability by SADC to even convene a talk session on Zimbabwe.
"Mnangagwa, who is feared more than he is respected and was previously tipped to take over the party leadership from President Robert Mugabe, said Zimbabwe belonged to ZANU PF which would not hesitate to bless and reward its own sons who defended the cause of the party.
"You will get blessings coming from the party if you continue in the path of working for this country," said Mnangagwa."
And if you fail to support ZANU PF, you will be beaten, arrested, incarcerated and probably killed. That is the inherent manner of ZANU PF culture.
"Auxcilia, wife of the minister and ZANU PF central committee member, also weighed in when she told the gathering that ZANU PF would never lose any battle.
"We are gathered here to celebrate the victory of our party. In whatever we do, our party will never lose," she said."
It is absolutely unreal that the losers of the 2008 general election should be permitted to continue to preach their demonic rule. And coming on the weekend that SADC prove their alliance with ZANU PF, I am not that surprised.
