Your Planet Needs You
Jordanian Ministry of Environment will be marking World Environment Day, which is usually celebrated on the 5th of June, through a new campaign titled, "Your Planet Needs You! Let's Unite in Combating Climate Change". This campaign aims to raise public awareness mainly in regards to changing habits to stop, or at least decrease climate change, which Jordan is suffering from, partly in regards to rainfall, and agricultural productions, which have been decreasing in volume.

It was also reported that
“The Kingdom's forests are decreasing as a result of illegal logging and random grazing of livestock in addition to an increase in population coupled with a similar rise in construction.According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, many parts of the planet will become warmer, while droughts, floods and other forms of extreme weather will become more frequent, threatening food supplies, plant and animal life. Meanwhile, sea levels are rising and will continue to do so with the potential to force hundreds of thousands of people in coastal zones to migrate”- The Jordan Times.
The campaign will be targeting illegal logging, littering, proper use of energy sources, air pollution caused by cars, and other related subjects, all of which being issues which are badly needed in a country severely suffering instability and drastic changes in climate through out the year.
