Yes, President Obama’s visit to India is, indeed, meaningful from different point of view. First he willfully touched the heart of the Indian landing in Mumbai. Right. He” understands the aspirations of young Indians, better than most Indian leaders do.”
Blissfully, we owe much to President Bush. Initially he gave us impetus to our long cherished dream—the civil nuclear deal. Naturally, Obama is now in a much better position—“lifting export controls; endorsing India's UNSC bid; calling on Pakistan to dismantle terrorist safe havens and punish the perpetrators of 26/11; collaborations in clean energy, agricultural technology, counter-terrorism and space exploration; a higher education summit.”
Without going into the hazards of relation between India and China and that they are stealing jobs from the USA,, Obama’s realization could easily appreciate India’s potential, which has been touched upon by Swagato Ganguly in the caption of his article ‘yes, you can’.
Despite so many adversities in our country, Obama is well aware of our culture and human recourses. He believes the Indian--possibly, more than any others around the world. Our vast majority of consumers will surely help the US to carry out better business to eradicate, significantly, unemployment of the Americans
Very nicely realized by the author, Mr. Ganguly, and I can not but depict the sentence—“ Not so much to win a future Cold War, but to prevent one from developing through the deployment of soft power.” O my God! Help us please “to overcome a colonially induced inferiority complex.”
Finally, at this moment Obama may be misunderstood in his country, but we appreciate his foresight when leaving others in South East Asia he attaches great importance to Indians’ enthusiasm staying a considerable time with us.
Candidly, Obama has yet to know a little about our spirituality which has been reflected broadly through Ma-Mahajnan’s “Conscious Trance”. Of course, it is a different chapter which keeps my beloved friends of TOI absolutely in the dark. However, let the time be ripened.
