Women Staff to Wear Red Bracelets during periods
In Norway Women Staff told to Wear Red Bracelets during Periods

Everyone has to respond to the nature’s call whenever it arises. Norway is one country which has framed different toilet rules; women staff in offices has been asked to wear red bracelets when they are on their periods so that they can justify frequent visits to the toilet.
Norwegian companies are too demanding as far as their productivity is concerned, they feel that frequent visits to the toilet results in loss of productivity as the employees spend too much time attending the call of nature. A few companies have video surveillance of their toilets while in some others employees have to sign in a toilet ‘visitor book’.

Women feel humiliated on wearing red bracelets as their colleagues become aware of this intimate detail of their private life. These are extreme cases of obsession with productivity. Such toilet codes relating to the menstrual cycle are not only embarrassing to women but also violating their privacy. Does achieving higher productivity at the cost of human dignity make it worthwhile?
