Woman Who Cut Out The Unborn Child Of Pregant Woman Gets Life
27-year-old Korena Roberts had two children of her own, both under 10, but those two weren't enough for this baby-obsessed mother who wound up butchering an 8-months pregnant woman she had befriended on Craigslist. Heather Snively never knew what was coming when she went to Roberts' home to exchange baby clothes that fateful day in June, 2009. What Roberts did to Snively is straight out of a gory, horror film.

After losing a baby in 2007, Roberts suddenly became obsessed with having babies, at least that's what her lawyer claims.
During a bail hearing, Roberts' lawyer said she had given birth to a stillborn child in 2007 and was obsessed with babies, repeatedly watching videos of births on YouTube, sewing baby clothes and telling people she was pregnant.
Prior to the murder, Roberts pretended that she was pregnant, even going so far as buying baby items to make it appear that she was preparing for motherhood. The poor unsuspecting Snively had only recently moved to Oregon, where her fiance lived. The two women allegedly met through Craigslist where both were looking for used baby clothes, and according to neighbours, they had been seen together prior to the murder.
On that day, Roberts beat the pregnant Snively with a police baton, sliced her open and (according to the autopsy) ripped the baby from her womb, then shoved the woman's lifeless body into a crawlspace in her kitchen. The only reason she was caught was because her boyfriend, Yan Shubin, called the paramedics to try and save the dying newborn baby, who Roberts claimed was hers. The baby never survived and while at the hospital, it was discovered that Roberts had not been pregnant nor given birth.
Although Roberts initially claimed she did not kill Snively, she eventually pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison.
Sadly, this is not an isolated case, and I have read about other similar stories about women who have killed others for their babies. I can't even fathom what kind of person would do such an thing to another, but I suppose the darkness inside a person's mind can be triggered by any small thing.
Snively and her baby did not deserve what happened to them.
