Microsoft hopes to unseat Google as the internet user's search engine of choice after spending millions of dollars to launch its new ‘Bing’ browser. The news on 28th May, 2009 that Microsoft launched a search engine, ‘Bing’, heralded a wave of questions: will Bing finally going to challenge Google’s dominance? Do we need a new type of search engine? And can Microsoft really hope to catch up with the web’s pre-eminent site, particularly when many believe it struggles to overtake its giant rival?
