In the past, the onus was on the woman and men didn’t have much choice in contraceptives. However, a male contraceptive jab now could be as effective at preventing pregnancies as the female pill or condoms. The monthly testosterone injection for males will not only revolutionize birth control, but will also give more choices and enable men to take a greater share of the responsibility for contraception. But there is another side to the coin, as it could lower the condom use and increase the possibilities of sexually transmitted diseases, AIDS in particular.
