Many intellectuals have asked me for an explanation. Why is it that a state with high levels of literacy and an otherwise enlightened people stuck to Dravidian parties for decades despite their poor performance ? Why is it that the people of a state that is widely seen as a successor to the Bihar –Under –Laloo tag been less than enthusiastic to Anna Hazare ?

It was these disturbing questions that were referred to me by many thinkers. As the founder of INDIA THINKS MOVEMENT I was asked to research and come up with my findings. I formulated a detailed questionnaire and authorized my private detective friend Alphonso and his team of intrepid assistants to scoure the Tamil countryside and come up with valid answers.

Someone from India Against Corruption rang me up and asked me to ensure a sizeable audience when Hazare addresses a rally In Chennai in two weeks’ time . And it was then that I decided that the matter was of great urgency.Off went Alphonso and his swift moving MBA gang.

Here are the results of my findings based on over one hundred thousand responses.

The unanimous opinion on my questions was as follows

--WHY HAS IT GONE UNNOTICED THAT OUR BELOVED LEADERS FOR WHOM WE WILL COMMIT SELF IMMOLATION WEAR DARK GLASSES EVEN IN PITCH DARKNESS?

--UNLESS AND UNTIL LEADERS FROM OTHER PARTIES SPORT DARK GLASSES WE WILL NEVER VOTE FOR THEM

--UNLESS AND UNTIL ANNA HAZARE ALSO WEARS DARK GLASSES UNDER HIS WHITE GANDHI CAP WE WILL NOT ATTEND HIS RALLIES OR SUPPORT HIS CAUSE

--KARNATAKA LEADER H D. KUMARASAMY WAS RIGHT –WE WOULD HAVE NOT FOLLOWED EVEN MAHATMA GANDHI SINCE HE NEVER WORE DARK GLASSES

I then realized that Dravidian parties sported names that might appear strange to those not conversant with Tamilnadu politics but was evident to Tamilians. Thus DMK stand for DARK GLASSES MUNNETRA KAZHAGAM . AIADMK stands for All India Anna Dark Glasses Munnetra Kazhagam .DDMK stands for Darkest of Dark Glasses Munnetra Kazhagam.

Now I have sent a parcel to one of Anna Hazare’s advisers containing –yes you guessed it right –a pair of the darkest of dark glasses! Watch how many millions throng the Marina beach to hear him. I have warned that in the event of a strong wind at the beach Anna Hazare ought to let his cap fly but must hold on to his dark glasses as if his life were at stake !
