The under construction Chambal Bribge, which collapsed was first of its kind supported on single pylon on each side of the river. The design was unique and no where in India, this has been tried earlier and it was chosen due to the reason that the National corridor road was passing over World fame Crocodile Sanctuary.

The construction towards riverside of the pylon was going on and the ropes, which used for balancing acts and the bearing of pylon, plays pivotal role in this activities.
The four lane road is both side of the pylon and the ropes are used for balancing the span on the rivers too. The Chambal river was passing through the rocky area and the rocks are only slightly inclined on both sides.
