Being Fat Is Not Always A Choice
Last night I read an article where the writer was practically saying that it is OK to make fun of fat people, because being fat is a choice that they made.
For some reason that I won't discuss here, I didn't want to answer in a comment , but I think people know me by now, I can't keep my mouth shut (or my fingers away from the keyboard, in this case :P) when it comes to people making fun of each others' weaknesses. So here I go again:
Why do people get fat?
There is no one answer to this question, as we are talking about millions of people, each with their own individual reasons, some of which could be psychological, others may be metabolic, hormonal, or simply unknown reasons.

I myself eat like crazy sometimes due to changes in hormones levels that lots of people experience, I however was blessed with both a proper education that allowed me to know what is happening with me, and a great metabolic system that takes care of what I eat. But I know that not everyone was blessed like me, and some do suffer due to these hormonal changes and their insufficiently functioning metabolic systems, which they have no control over. Some people eat relatively little, but still get fat, why? same reasons mentioned above!!!
Those were simple examples of why people get fat. I could go on for ever giving different reasons, but that is not the point of this article. The point is:
We have no right making fun of fat people…
It is only ignorant to think that everyone is completely healthy and is in control over his/her body, because none of us is. We all have our own medical/psychological issues, even if we are not fully aware of them. No one is perfect.
It makes me sad that we are this judgmental towards others whom we don't even know, and that we simply assume that everyone enjoys the kind of life and body that we live in…
