Where did Shs 6 billion meant for free primary education go?
The other day it was cash for IDPs stolen, now it’s Free Primary Education Funds, what intentions do the undisclosed thieves have for this nation? What’s all these nonsense while even a good number of those displaced are still living under deplorable conditions?

Isn’t this a joke that millions of shillings meant to resettle internally displaced people were squandered in illegal payments made to imposters, inflated costs of materials and even buying bulls to feast on during peace meetings?
An audit report of the IDP fund indicates that high ranking government official including the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Special Programmes Ali Mohammed flouted the rules in disbursing the IDP funds leading to a loss of nearly Sh200 million.
According to the report, Sh48,126,782.10 was lost though procurement of building materials at inflated prices, irregular and illegal payments to people masquerading as IDPs as well as double payments to people in five districts where the internally displaced were living in camps.
Another Sh128, 175,679.45 cannot be accounted as well as Sh4, 663,221 which was overpayment in allowances due to various officers or was diverted to uses other than the intended purpose. can raila and Kibaki tell us what is happening or act if they are not part of the whole mess.
Now the future of 8.6 million primary school pupils is at risk, parents also could end up coughing more cash to seal the gap. Sincerely with the high cost of living and the tax burden, we don’t expect the heads of this nation to just sit back and watch as things get out of hand.
The UK government has so far threatened to withhold funding for a seven-year programme following the misappropriation of Sh100 million.
