"I still have trouble believing that another book on Idi Amin has anything new to say, but after reading this manuscript, I believe that there is much more to be written."

This comment comes from Dr. Stephen Mungoma, a free-lance reporter and independent editor based in Los Angeles, California.

"Jaffar Amin, son of the late President of Uganda has boldly come out to let the world know more about his father and his family. There is much in the book that raises more questions than answers but it is worth reading to learn something from not only Idi Amin’s life, but from what was happening in the East African country of Uganda.”

says Stephen, an independent book editor and news reporter, who provides opportunities to people to share their stories and helps them publish them.

In this unprecedented series devoted to telling Idi Amin’s story in its entirety and not just “selected” parts, Margaret Akulia engages Jaffar Amin and others in candid conversation about Idi Amin’s legacy. Jaffar insists that he is not defending his father wholesale, but feels that the whole truth needs to come out.

“Our father had his faults. I do not see the period of his rule in Uganda with ‘rose-tinted glasses.’ However, we need to counter-balance history with all the truth!"

he insists.

A sample book is available online but one can purchase a complete e-Book from the following websites: millenniumglobalinc or idiamindada. The print copy will be available in a few weeks’ time.

Stephen, in e-mail communication asked the authors what they hoped the book will accomplish. They responded saying that they want truth revealed layer by layer and they wanted to shed light on untruths that have been peddled for a long time about Idi Amin. They said, the second aim is to challenge anybody who has contrary view or who has evidence contradicting what they write to come out with it and they are willing to incorporate all those views in the next edition.

“The bottom line is that peace and reconciliation among Ugandans is important, but unless truth can be uncovered and forgiveness asked and given, it is not possible to have lasting harmony among diverse peoples of Uganda.”

Stephen Mungoma points out,

"Jaffar Amin has stepped out in this journey and he is to be commended for taking such a bold step."

Stephen firmly believes that this book will go a long way to helping Ugandans face the truths of their past and pave a way for a future devoid of acrimoniousness and suspicions due to tribalism, regionalism and political persuasion. It is hoped that all who read the book and are privy to information that sheds light to something mentioned in the book will come out and share it.
