India's leading mobile service operator Idea cellular and Reliance communication has been pulled up by the Advertisement Standards Council of India. Both the companies are pulled up due to their misleading ad campaigns. ACSI has objection on Reliance's TVC (television commercial) for 'fastest broadband service' and also on IDEA's campaign 'walk When You Talk'.
Reliance is misleading the TV viewer by showing advertisement of their broadband service and has a punch line "India's fastest broadband service" but this is not right because Reliance is also providing the same comparative data speed of 3.1 mbps as per the Indian rules which is same also provided by Tata Photon + and MTS's M-blaze.
In the other hand India's 3rd largest GSM mobile operator IDEA is also misleading its consumers and TV viewers by showing its new TVC "walk when u talk" with its brand ambassador Abhishek Bacchan. In IDEA's new TVC which shows its Brand Ambassador Abhishek Bachchan playing a Doctor this time, who discovers how people can get fit by simply ‘Walking while Talking’ and advocates this idea to the general public. While responding to a journalist’s query on whether technology was making people lazy and unfit; the Doctor responds by saying that people can be fit by just ‘Walking & Talking’.
But according to ACSI, IDEA encouraged unsafe act of walking when you talking. This is a dangerous and unsafe action. Idea is also putting its view by saying that if ‘Talk time’ equals ‘Walk time’ for mobile users, their fitness scores can go up. But at last both the companies assured ACSI for appropriate modification in the ad campaign and TVC. So we can say now "what an idea sir ji".
