The world is an ugly, nasty place. I don't think there is a single country that has been able to truley escape the wrath of the greed, violence, corruption, and chaos which we have created.
Of course in some countries, the tolls aren't quite as visible, but the cracks are there, waiting to expand. In my country, Mexico, corruption has been such an ever present entity, that it feels normal. We are perfect citizens of a dysfunctional nation who have been raised in the sleep mode of society. For many, the chaos is comforting, we need not fear what we know. For others, the conformist ties that bind our souls are unwelcomed, but accepted; after all, one man against a country are hardly good odds for change. We're wrong, we can make a difference, one person at a time, think of the domino effect.
Humanism has become extinct and been replaced by blind faith and authoritarianism. We believe what we told, and ask no questions. There are no ethics or justice. We tolerate abuse and blindly forfeit our rights. We place the goods and bads in our lives in the hands of others. It seems quite obvious, the others, aren't doing a great job at ruling our world. Their ineptness is destroying us, yet we still doze in conforming slumber.
Many are looking to God to resolve our claims of inequality and injustice. We seek his intervention and abolishment of the global laws that are operating to the prejudice of our majority. Look around us, they'll be no divine miracles taking place on the behalf of self destructing mankind. If you want God, use your knowledge of Him and open your eyes to the truth. The christian faith believes suicide for any reason, including assisted, is a sin. By sleeping you are engaging in your own government assisted suicide. If you're still waiting for Him to save the day, think again. God has gone awol and left us with just enough rope to hang ourselves.
I don't know about the rest of the world, but I don't want to just survive life as my country's forgotten bastard child, I want to live life, my life. I want my children, future grandchildren, and your children to live love, kindness, compassion, justice, and humanity; not just learn of them through ancient history books.
Wake up! It can be done, one person at a time. Each person can lead to a nation, nations lead to continents, and continents make up the world. I have done it, You can do it, We can be whole.
