I am sure baba is going to buy mea one way ticket to the hell if not issuing a fatwa on my life. My good friend will do a mini tandav (dance of death) but as I am already slipping down the hill, death or threat of it no longer bothers me. So I am writing this piece just for the heck of it.
I recall the famous scene from bollywood movie DIL SE in which Shahrukh Khan meets Priety Jinta for a matrimonial alliance and the first question she asks is: Are you a virgin? The expression on Shahrukh’s face is worth seeing. As if the girl is a nut case.
But I think that if virginity is indeed an issue then it should work both ways, I really fail to understand if heavens will fall if a sheath is perforated. If fact its presence makes the sex unpleasant. As it is suppose to be a pleasure for both the partners.
When the girl is writhing in pain and boy is like a bull in a China shop (pun intended) the experience cannot be memorable for the right reasons. In the movie Padosan Omprakash an elderly gentleman wants to marry a young girl and wants to send a mediator with the proposal saying man is like a diamond ring and women is like a finger.
The ring never grows old. I feel real sick at such attitude. If virginity is such an issue then why get married in the first place. Let the girls remain virgins all their lives. If they have to remain Sati Savitri, chaste, post marriage men should also remain faithful. Who says that flirting is their birth right? If sex is sin then why sexual organs are there and why sex is necessary for procreation?
In fact, nature is highly unfair to girls as they only have to undergo menstruation every month. Have to carry the child, bear labor pain and feed him/her. Man is like the lord and master. He came, he saw and he conquered. Wham, bam thank you mam!
Instead of evolving girls are going to extreme extant by getting the hymen stitched prior to marriage. If virginity is such an issue with men then will such a relationship based on deceit will survive the test of time? Girls are not an apple which if already half eaten is not worth biting. Yes, AIDS is a big issue but it works both ways. I think rights are not given in alms.
One has to shed blood, sweat, tears and much more. It is time girls are no longer on the back foot on their sexual experience prior to marriage. Please do not get me wrong. I am not for free sex or affairs. I am a great believer in the institution of marriage and fidelity. All I am saying that there should be a level playing field.
If women wish to experience with sex prior to marriage just like men both should be open about it. In no cricket match only one side bats and other balls. On this note I rest my case.
