U.S. Threatens Aid Cut to Jordan
The Obama administration had threatened to cut economic and military aid to the Jordanian regime, a U.S. ally, if Jordan does not submit to Israeli demands to coordinate its nuclear development program with Tel Aviv.

In 2007, Jordanian authorities discovered 65,000 tons of uranium ore in the Jordan desert. This reserve, one of the world's largest, holds the potential to free Jordan from its excessive demand for foreign supplies of power. 95% of Jordan's energy use if important, but the regime intends to produce most of its own energy and even export power to regional state with the development of a nuclear reactor.
Jordan's government reserves the right as a signature of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty to establish its own peaceful nuclear program for domestic use. And neither Israel nor the United States fears that Jordan will enrichment uranium to the degree to pursue nuclear weapons. Both nations believe that Jordan only wants the same energy independence often cheered by U.S. politicians. Jordan is, in essence, a U.S. client, has a decade-plus peace agreement with Israel and is far from an aggressive state in the region. So there is no concern hear about Jordan having a nuclear arsenal to balance and negate Israel's present nuclear hegemony.
Nonetheless, Israel is not please. Tel Aviv wants to be not only the sole state with nuclear weapons, but also the sole state in the region with the knowledge and capability. In that effort, Israel is trying to undercut Jordan's peaceful and international right to develop a civilian program. Jordan's King Abduallah recently criticized Israel in the Wall Street Journal for its lobby of France and South Korea to not sell technology to Jordan and stated that such actions have undermined relations between both nations.
Israel's backdrop lobbying for foreign nations failed as foreign companies are eager to do business with Jordan. So Israel has resorted to a new approach: American proxy pressure.
The U.S. government, already registering its opposition to Jordan's program, has recently threatened to cut $360million in economic aid and $300million in military aid unless Jordan eagers to Israeli demands that Israel will extract and enrich Jordan's uranium. Under such a humiliating deal, Jordan will be forced to transfer national resources to Israeli control and Israel will enrich the uranium for peaceful energy use while prohibiting Jordan from developing a nuclear program so that Jordan never learns the know-how of nuclear technology. This is why Israeli and American B.S. about opposition only to Iran's nuclear program because Iran is a "rogue state" is...B.S. Israel and its loyal patron (or is it client?) the U.S. are opposed to any nation ever equaling Israel even in just nuclear knowledge. And these demands followed by threats in aid cuts are reflective of that. This is the Israeli arrogance which will be its undoing and this is the American hubris which will only undermine American standing in the world.
The threat is serious. It is unlikely that the U.S. will relent since 6months of talk to dissuade Jordan have failed and Israel and its influential lobby will certainly stiffen American resolve against Jordan. But it is unlikely that Jordan will relent either. American aid is marginal and Jordan's national pride is at stake.
Expect a cut in aid, a Jordan nuclear program, a fall-out between the U.S., Israel and Jordan and a further decline of America's strategic position in the name of Zionist zealotry.
