Officials say a U.S. cargo plane has crashed while trying to land in the northern Mexican city of Ramos Arizpe, killing the pilot and seriously injuring the co-pilot.
Coahuila state official Segismundo Doguin says pilot John Mackintosh was killed. Co-pilot Christian Yenh suffered second- and third-degree burns and is in critical condition at a hospital in nearby Saltillo. The nationality of the men in unknown.
Doguin says the plane crashed before dawn Sunday half a mile (1 kilometer) from the runway in Ramos Arizpe, 200 miles south of the U.S.-Mexico border.
