UN To Entertain Worst World Leaders
I have little or no respect for the United Nations - primarily because they insist on hosting some of the worst leaders on the face of the earth today whenever they have a conference.
These 'leaders' include Robert Mugabe amongst others. And, for some unknown reason, they insist on giving Mugabe the floor - which allows him to express his disdain of the UN, the West - and any other person, country or body that he cares to add to the list.
And to the UN, it is perfectly acceptable to do this!
We know this because not only do they do this with frightening regularity, but they fail to find fault with the utterances of Robert Mugabe.
"The usual September parade of world leaders descending on New York City for the opening of the annual United Nations General Assembly will be characterized this year by the presence of some of the world’s most controversial leaders.
Likely to provoke the most ire this year will be Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, who plans his first visit ever to the United States at a time when his emergence from international isolation has been set back by the release of the Libyan convicted in the Lockerbie bombing. Of the 270 people killed when the New York-bound Pan Am Flight 103 was blown up after taking off from London in 1988, 189 were Americans."
Other questionable characters include Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe.
Perhaps not the worst line-up that the UN could have had, but these four men represent basically all that is wrong with the world today.
And they will compound the error by not only giving the floor to Mugabe - or some other misguided leader - and then fail to react to their hate speech.
…"yet to confirm his attendance is Mugabe, who has ruled Zimbabwe for 29 years, but over the past year under international pressure agreed to allow opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai to become prime minister.
At last year’s UN session, the then 84-year-old Mugabe lashed out at his traditional foes, Britain and the US, accusing them of "self-righteous finger-pointing" and calling them "perpetrators of genocide, acts of aggression and mass destruction" in Iraq.
As in past years, the presence of such figures the UN has again prompted questions about why the US government should issue visas.
Under the 1947 United Nations Headquarters Act, foreign delegates are permitted unimpeded access to a demarcated "headquarters district" in New York City."
Mugabe will travel - have no doubt about that. Mainly because his absence from Zimbabwe will delay any settlement of matters outstanding with regard to the coalition government.
Mugabe will travel with a huge entourage - will remain in New York for a few days after the UN conference so that his wife, Amazing (Dis)Grace, can shop until she drops.
Just how she does it on the reportedly monthly salary of US$300, I shall never know - but once the entourage arrives back in Harare, all she has purchased will mysteriously skip a customs check and be transported to the Mugabe mansion in Borrowdale Brooke in Harare.

The UN does more damage than good when they entertain the likes of Mugabe at their conferences. Not only for the vitriol that he will launch from the podium, but for the wholesale smuggling that his wife will commit upon her return to Zimbabwe.
