People love to attack the Catholic Church for all the troubles it's been having with its wayward priesthood, but I guess it's not just Catholic priests who have an affinity for underage boys. Granted, the Catholic Church has more than its fair share of pedophile priests, but other religions have their own deviant religious types, including Islam.
Handsome, 41-year-old Mohammed Hanif Khan, is the Imam at the Capper Street Mosque, in Tunstall, England. An important, powerful and respected leader in and outside the community he has also been charged with 5 counts of sexual assault, rape and attempted rape on young boys.
The defendant is accused of the attempted rape and sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy in Meir last year.He is further accused of three counts of rape on a boy under the age of 13 last year in Tunstall.
He denies the charges, and there is the possibility that the allegations are untrue; it certainly wouldn't be the first time false charges of rape and sexual assault have been levied against an individual. People have been falsely accused of rape, jailed and then been exonerated by DNA evidence many years later. Sometimes the accusations were based on faulty eyewitness testimony, at other times it was intentional. But then again, it could be true; and it certainly would not be the first time that some upstanding, religious leader has been responsible for some kind of horrific sexual violation.
If he is guilty, he should be ashamed of himself, especially considering his standing and his accomplishments:

He is patron and founder of Hizb ur Rasool (HUR), a charity dealing with youth issues and the propagation of Islam.
If he did rape those young boys, let's hope he gets a lengthy sentence. If he didn't let's hope the truth comes out.
