Britain’s Foreign Office says a bus crash in Ecuador has killed five British citizens and injured 12 others.

The office says the crash occurred between the capital, Quito, and the city of Puerto Lopez. It did not immediately say when or under what circumstances the crash occurred.

The foreign office says staff from the British Embassy in Quito were working with a tour company to inform relatives.
