Ugandan Anglican Church Dismayed By The Election of A Lesbian Bishop in America
The Church of Uganda is dismayed with reports of the election of Reverand Mary Glasspool, a gay person, to the status of Bishop in the diocese of Los Angeles in the United States.

The Archbishop's Assistant for international relations, Ms. Alison Barfoot has called the decision "funny and unbiblical", and one that is bound to further bring more problems and divisions within the Anglican community.
The church of Uganda broke off ties with the anglican churches in North America that support the consecration of gay clergy.
The issue regarding homosexuality and the rights for gay people is the most active discussion right now in Uganda. A bill is being debated in the country's parliament on the rights of gay people in our society. The ethics minister has of late come out strongly against it and openly calling it anal sex.
The Anglican community is facing a difficult moment with election of gay clergy and the Vatican wooing disaffected Anglicans to convert to Catholicism. But the storm in the anglican church and how they will overcome it will greatly contribute the views and acceptance of gay people in Uganda today.
