Uganda: Children on Death Row Awaiting Hangman's Noose For Over 12 years
Luzira prison is Uganda's major prison where all hardcore criminals enjoy their sentences. You can never expect children to share the same environment, more so, sharing the same jail cells.

But this is the case since the prison is so crowded, that there are calls for criminals who have committed petty crimes to carry out community service in their communities instead of being jailed.
There are now 17 juveniles sentenced to death several years ago living in this cruel environment who have been waiting for their sentence to come down for over 12 years! They have lived and grown up in this environment which by now, they must be calling home. Reason why they have suffered this long, the law does not permit execution of a convict below 18 years of age.
Now that they are adults, they are depending on the mercy of the minister of justice who has to decide to hang them - completing their sentence or pardon them to serve a life in prison or set them free.
Problem comes in if these juveniles are set free without rehabilitation. They are more inclined to live a rough life of crime. Their hearts are hardened by the life they have been living, most especially growing up feeling neglected, abandoned most especially, without parental care.
